Episode 28 - An Impossible Suicide: The Death of Ellen Rae Greenberg
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
On January 26th 2011, Ellen Greenberg was found dead in her apartment kitchen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her death was ruled a suicide, but was quickly changed to a homicide, however shortly after this, her manner of death was once again changed back to suicide. This was despite the fact that her autopsy revealed that she had sustained a total of 20 stab wounds to her neck, back, head and abdomen.
This episode explores the journey this case took and unbelievable evidence that really does appear to refute the idea that Ellen’s death could have been anything but a murder.

Today’s episode explores the death of Silje Redergård, a five year old Norwegian girl who was killed by her friends in a play fight that escalated into violence. We compare Silje’s case to the British case of James Bulger and discuss the stark differences in the way the British and Norwegian penal system and media dealt with both crimes.
We discuss the purpose of prison, the concept of rehabilitation and whether children who commit crimes should have their anonymity preserved or whether the public has the right to know who these young offenders are.

Episode 21 - Elijah "Bear" Diaz: Missing in El Cajon
Wednesday Aug 12, 2020
Wednesday Aug 12, 2020
On the 29th of August 2015, 20 year old Bear Diaz disappeared from his home in El Cajon, California. His TV, money from his safe and his lifesaving medication were also missing, but his glasses, that he couldn’t see without, were still in his bedroom. At first glance this looked like the case of a run away. However, due to an issue with his feet as a result of a chronic illness, Bear couldn’t physically have run away, because Bear couldn’t walk. This episode discusses Bear’s life before his disappearance and the efforts his family went to after he went missing to try and find him. We then take the facts and discuss our theories on what we think could have happened to Bear.
