On 27th January 2017, Chandra Lawson was shot dead by her husband whilst she stood next to their two year old son. From the outset, Bryan Lawson claimed self defence. He said that he had been abused by his wife for years.
In this episode we discuss the blinding evidence in this case and the fact that the entire shooting was recorded on the couple’s home security system. We also explore whether we think this was a case of self defence or whether it was cold blooded murder.

On December 17th 2010, Joanna Yeates was seen on CCTV buying cider and a pizza before walking home to her flat in Clifton, Bristol. On December 19th 2010, Joanna’s boyfriend returned home to their flat to find Joanna’s phone and bag there, along with the ciders she had bought from the shop. Joanna, however, was nowhere to be seen. There was no sign of a struggle, no forced entry into her home and no evidence at all to indicate what had happened to her.
This episode explores the police investigation that followed Joanna’s disappearance, the part the media played in casting suspicion on the wrong man and the subsequent trial that followed.
